How to upgrade user roles with advanced tax and grant client access in ProConnect Tax

  1. Select PCG--UI_PTO_navbar-settings.pngin the upper-right corner.
  2. From that menu, select Manage and Invite Users under YOUR FIRM.
  3. Locate the employee in the list. Verify that their status is listed as Active.
    • Users who are Invited must accept their invitation before you can edit them.
  4. Select Edit under the Action column of the user's name.
  5. Select the role from the Roles box.
    • If Advanced tax and books admin is selected the user can see and do everything in both ProConnect Tax and QuickBooks Accountant.
    • If Advanced tax and books access is selected, the user is granted full access to Advanced tax permissions (ProConnect Tax only) but can be customized by expanding the permission, Standard tax permissions (ProConnect Tax only) with the option to deselect External integrations, and to Clients and Company Info with the option to deselect. All other permissions are Full access.
    • If Advanced tax access is selected is selected, the user is granted full access to Advanced tax permissions (ProConnect Tax only) but can be customized by expanding the permission, Standard tax permissions (ProConnect Tax only) with the option to deselect External integrations, and to Clients and Company Info with the option to deselect. All other permissions are No access.
  6. Grant or remove access for individual clients on in bulk under Access to Clients > Edit client access.
  7. Save changes.
