
Windows Hello for Business error connecting to Rightworks for Intuit Hosting

When connecting to Rightworks, Intuit Hosting users may receive the below error if they've set up Windows Hello for Business but have not edited their rdp shortcut to allow its use:
Remote Desktop Connection
The selected user credential requires that local smart card and 'Windows Hello for Business' devices be made available to the remote session.
For assistance, contact your system administrator.
Changing your shortcut to allow Windows Hello use:
- Right-click your shortcut to access the hosted environment and select Edit.
- Windows 11 users will need to select Show more options first to see Edit.
- On the Local Resources tab under Local devices and resources, select More…
- Check Smart cards or Windows Hello for Business and WebAuthn (Windows Hello or security keys then choose OK.
- Go to the General tab and select Save.
- You will not receive a confirmation message, try connecting to the hosted environment again.
If further support is needed with Windows Hello, reach out to Windows or your IT professional. They may decide its needed to rollback an update or repair Windows.
