Partner Data Import for Lacerte

by Intuit Updated 3 weeks ago

Beginning in Lacerte 2018, you can import Partner Data from a Comma Separated Values (CSV) file. Most commonly these are created using a spreadsheet program such as Microsoft Excel. You can both add new partners with the import, as well as update existing partners.

When preparing your file for import:

  • Only one partner should be listed on each row.
  • Each item should reside within its own cell.
  • Partner and related information should reside in the same row.
  • Other items to note:
    • Foreign addresses do not contain a zip code, and must be manually entered
    • Each partner is unique, if partners are duplicated, errors can be encountered during import
    • There are no blank cells in the required fields such as SSN/EIN
