Shouldn’t that also be offset and the basis be lowered?

I was adding the fact that they also received a 1099misc for rents as well as the 1099s reported as a sale, so that is why I posted a second question.

Thank you so much. They also received a 1099misc for “rents” which was for compensation while the project was being completed. How do I handle that portion?
