It is final and currently not deductible.

The schedule A- Mortgage Insurance Premium deduction is part of the Federal Extender legislation that Congress has not passed for 2018. The MIP box is always left on the worksheet to allow the deduction when / if Congress acts. (For 2017, the Extenders were retroactively allowed in 2018).  Also, some states may allow the deduction. If Congress passes Extender legislation, all 3 programs (ProSeries, Lacerte and Tax Online) will be updated to allow the deductions included in the legislation.

Same issue last year at this time, but they extended the deduction for 2017 around mid-February. Does anyone know if there is a chance that will happen again?
