Why can't the Pro Series software automatically attach Form 4868 to the NJ-1040?

Thank you for your quick reply.  I am familiar with that requirement.  However, it goes on to say

"You do not need to submit this NJ-630 application if: 1. You have paid at least 80% of your final tax liability by the original due date; and 2. You have applied for an automatic extension of time to file for federal purposes and you enclose a copy of the federal Application for Automatic Extension (if filed by paper) with the final New Jersey return when filed."

A copy of the 4868 needs to be attached to the NJ-1040.  The Proseries software has a pop up error that instructs the preparer to manually attach the 4868 to the NJ return.  My question is, why can't the Proseries software programmers attach a copy automatically to the NJ return.  The form is already in the tax return, it would save time if the software did the work for the preparer.

If your client meets NJ requirements NJ does accept fed 4868, and you don't have to do anything for NJ.

Here is a link of NJ requirements.

Good question.  As long as we are asking questions of Intuit, why don't they automatically attach the nonresident return to the resident return when you file asking for a credit for taxes paid to other states?  Why can't you prepare a prior year tax return if you have since decided to leave Intuit without paying a current year fast path fee?  Why can't they provide a page here to list out known bugs in the software?  And there are a bunch more but I will close with - why can't they provide form 5227?
