Prior year returns

Do you know when we will be able to efile prior year returns and submit amended returns?

At present, the only thing that should be holding up a prior year e-file is whether or not there is an extender present. If there is an extender present, the prior year return will not e-file at this time.

We are aiming for mid to late March for the high impact items, this being dependent on the IRS' updated forms/instructions.

As far as submitting amended returns, the IRS does not currently allow federal Form 1040X to be filed electronically at this time.

I'm trying to efile NJ fiscal 9/30/19 but get an error message saying not ready for e-file. Is this a NJ issue or Proseries issue?

Ah, okay! Thanks for clarifying there.

The target release is 03/11 for NJ fiscal filers.

We are working closely with the taxing authority to get the necessary schedules out as soon as possible.
