extension form from another provider

Client had extension form prepared and filed by Block-  found out it was prepared incorrectly with errors and came to me to complete and file return.  How do I attached or submit Blocks extension they received to the return I am now completing for client.

You don't need to attach it, the IRS already has what they need.

Name, address, SSN and a couple guesses at numbers -- where did Block go wrong?  (Although I don't doubt that they found a way.)

I wasn't real clear if the extension was messed up or their attempt at preparing the return was messed up.  In either case, what was filed was filed and nobody can do anything about the filed extension at this point.  Hopefully some kind of extension was actually filed (right or wrong) if there was a balance due on the return.

Block filed the extension and accepted-- however the numbers used to figure the tax due were added wrong or duplicated making the tax deposit vastly overstated-  most likely a rush job.. Client noticed and does not want to go to Block to complete.

"Come to Block and we'll get you the biggest refund ever!"
