A favor..huge favor..do you had the CA employer ID number for

A request for a huge favor.

My client has lost his W2 forms.  I need the CA employer ID number for Heartland Payment Systems (Brook Park, OH) and Vivint Solar Developer (Lehi, Utah).

My client has big medical problems and big tax problems and can't find time to locate the W-2s. It's a sob story so I'm asking if you can search your LC Table Editor and look for the CA employer State ID number.

I have called these 2 employers but have not received a call back.

Try calling the FTB hotline. Back in the dark ages they were very helpful when you already had the majority of the information and only needed this one number.

Disable e-file error does not work. Federal will accept but CA will reject with the ID numbers.

Try all 99999999999999's

or 123456789.

I've had ones approved doing so, for CA residents with NV W-2 income, where the CA number doesn't exist.

I've heard other people suggest using the federal EIN.

The more I know, the more I don't know.

The FTB rep had those ID numbers. That ends a huge hassle.  Thank you.

It is the Complex Account Resolution department who helped. 866-418-3702.

(The practitioner priority line told me yesterday that they didn't have it.)

The Federal EIN worked. Thank you.
