Second time I have seen this in two days. Income on 2019 joint return is more than $160K. 2020 return has not been filed yet. Wife gets Social Security; husband does not. Wife got $1,400 EIP#3 deposited directly to account where Social Security is paid. Husband received nothing.
Social Security was late in turning over data on beneficiaries to IRS. Congress put pressure on IRS to get the money out quickly. They must not have checked the SSN's against the secondary SSN's on joint returns. (Or maybe they didn't check primary SSN either -- I just haven't heard a report of that.)
