duplicate of previous filed, how to correct to be able to efile?

I am getting the duplicate of one that was previously tried to be e-filed. I deleted the first one that had the same error in Pro Basic, thinking that would help but on the second one still getting duplication error.  How do I fix to be able to e-file the federal & state returns?  I only have one file now; I only have one file with federal & state.

What exactly is that error message?

Is it saying that a tax return has already been filed with that SSN? (even if you didn't efile it)


The more I know the more I don’t know.

error says the submission is a duplicate of one that was previously received. Please contact customer service support. not transmitted, the returns failed the tax submission return validation step. Please contact customer support. please make the necessary corrections.  

I can't get anyone to answer at customer support, so trying to get help from others.  I am new to Pro Basic and am very frustrated, if definitely is not user friendly!
