Question? If I paid child care to my mother to care for my child at her home can I claim the Child care on 2441 mother does not has a license to care for child. I can I get the credit?

You don't have to be licensed for the federal credit. Your state may have a different rule.

You will need to show Mom's name, address & SSN. And of course she will need to pay tax on the amount you paid her.
