1040NR & AL 40NR

Good morning, I just completed a 1040NR return that also has a AL state return attached.  I've got 2 questions:

1) I can't figure out why the AGI ($74,074) on line 11 of the 1040NR does not flow through to the AL 40NR Part VI line 6.  I have the latest updates installed.  The only way to enter that information I seem to find is an override.  That would then not make it possible for me to efile.

2) Is ProSeries unable to allow e-filing of AL 40NR?  I was told that in 2020 it would be possible to do so.

Thanks

The 1040NR return has limited capabilities when it comes to the state return. Only a few states will populate correctly based on the Federal entries. A full list of the states is here: https://proconnect.intuit.com/community/manage-passwords/help/how-do-i-access-form-1040nr-it-isn-t-o... but unfortunately, AL isn't on the list so the state will require overrides for most calculations to work.

The federal 1040NR can be e-filed but the AL return would need to be paper filed.
