Approximately 20 years ago we used BNA and they had a few nice features:

Every time I use Planner, I take the current year data  (let's say 2020) and copy it into the succeeding year (2021) and then begin making adjustments to 2021. Have an option where all the Schedule D detail activity is removed in the 2021 year.   Similarly have an option where all the overrides in the 2021 year would be removed (for example PAL carryovers, prior year AGI, capital loss carryovers).  There are generally one to two dozen override warnings in the Diagnostics tab and I will clear out all of them one at a time.
