Features that did not work for 2025 Software

cathybcpa

I am seriously considering not renewing my software even though I've used it for over 20 years. It was considerably more unstable. I cannot spend the amount of time with customer service that I did this past tax season. For the price we pay for the software, my minimal expectation is that all features work as they were designed. My client presentation report worked sporadically thru the entire season. When it stopped working the 1st time, I spent literally hours on the phone with customer service. They ultimately had me reload the software. BAD IDEA! I lost all of my customization (letters) and also lost the details on what clients had been e-filed/accepted. It only worked for about a week and then stopped again. It started working near the end, but I see as of today, it is again not working. I also have had a terrible experience sending out client checklists. It should work as a batch but doesn't. I've had many clients say they never received it. When I batch send them, I have no idea who got them. I just today tried to prepare a checklist for an extended client, and it kicked me out of the software and does not work at all. My MN returns also printed 'garbage text' almost the entire tax season. I had to manually print the pages one by one or they came out garbled. It only worked near the end of the season. I get really tired of customer service telling me it's my printer, my computer's inability to work probably with the PDF features, etc. It has always worked in the past, so it is not on my end. I need to know these features are operational before I consider renewing.

Sometime late in March, when I started to print, the program would shut down and when I opened the program back up it would ask if I wanted to restore or delete the client I was working on.  I would restore the file and I was back in business other than maybe having to replace one or two keystrokes that got lost in the process.  This would happen once each day (a couple of days it did happen twice).  As mysteriously as the problem started, it suddenly disappeared for a week or two but popped up again yesterday.  But that wasn't the only unexpected behavior for the day.  I went to transmit a return that had been completed two or three weeks ago.  The return was being filed just to get the client's MInnesota's renters credit refund.  The federal return was where I left it last, but the Minnesota return disappeared into thin air.  I had to go back in and enter the CRP and generate the renters credit form.  I was thinking someone at Intuit messed up something, but now I wonder if it isn't related to the government releasing those UFO documents. 👽
