duplicate charges

Currently, ProSeries charges based on each file name, not by each taxpayer's social security number and his state. I was charged again for the same taxpayer and for the same state although I already paid when I filed his extension.

IRS and a state tax government only accepts one final tax return for each person and his state. It will not be fair for ProSeries to charge us multiple times for the same person and for the same state. I called the Support or Billing department, which still was not willing to give me a credit back and said that was designed by the ProSeries system. 

Strangely, I was also charged for an Amended return in 2022 since the amended return had to be renamed and the system treated it as a different return. I also called either the Support or the Billing Department. They also insisted it was correct to charge me since it was different file name.

This situation only happened these recent few years. It upset me a lot that I was charged for the same client and same state more than once. I felt the system programmer does not understand how a tax return is processed by the tax authority.
