One of the top requests has been to have a two year comparison for states. It was marked (by Intuit) as having been implemented - yet many states do NOT have it.
And alternative implementation would be to provide those who request it a list of the codes in the software so that they can either create customized letters, use the Excel Presentation, or otherwise create some kind of app. The problem is that proseries HAS to know what the prior year state info is (in many cases it has to be reported on the Federal). So, why can't we reference that? Why is there no reference code in the letters or Client presentation?
I would also like to be able to add more tax planning to my presentation / letters. So, I would like to be able to call up the client's birthday and determine if they are coming of RMD age, Medicare Age, etc. So, I would like to do some "logic" on that field. Excel would be fine, if Proseries would only give me a list of the field codes.
Thanks for the idea. We are changing the status to "Open for voting" since it has been around for over 30 days and no longer considered "New". If you have any questions on the life cycle of an idea, check out our Idea Exchange Getting Started Guide for more information.
