Why is the adjustment amount zero for a code "B" adjustment on Schedule D?

In 2023, the adjustment code "B" for ESPP adjustments showed an amount.  However, 2024 the code "B" adjustment is zero.  Rather, the software changed the Cost/Basis amount.  Thus, it does not match the 1099-B.  The support person refused to look at the screen for both years and was extremely unhelpful.  I believe the software should be updated, but I'm not sure what else to do.  Any suggestions?  I don't want to override, as I want to E-file.

Aren't you supposed to enter the amount of the adjustment?

EDIT: Oh, I think you are saying you did but the software changed the basis and left the adjustment column blank.

The more I know the more I don’t know.

I entered the cost basis on the "Quick Entry" sheet of Form 8949,  double-clicked to enter all of the Employee Stock Purchase Plan information, double-checked the amount reported as wages on the W-2.  That amount was automatically entered in the adjustment column in 2023, for adjustment type "B".  However, this year, that amount was simply added to the cost basis I entered, rather than appearing in the adjustment column.  Thus, the 1099-B cost basis column and the tax return do not match.  It's frustrating.
