Why doesn't it work when I try to e-mail my clients return to them?

I have followed the instructions exactly when trying to e-mail my client's tax return to them.  It shows that it has been e-mailed but nothing comes through an e-mail.  I know this is the way it is because I tried to e-mail my own return to me and I get nothing, not even in my junk. In case it matters, I have a 64 bit operating system.

If your going to File > Print  and Marking "E-mail password protected client." This is not going to work with MSN e-mail.

You are going to select File > Print Options > Printer, PDF, and DMS Setup. On the top right column check the box "Password protected PDF files for returns."

Then print the return to PDF.  That will put the return in c:\ProPDF\2024

Next create a new E-mail in MSN like you normally would and attach they PDF you just created in c:\ProPDF\2024 (that is the default PDF location for standalone installs)

The KB below will tell you about the password.

Then just send the e-mail like any other e-mail you would send.

Hope this helps.

What "brand" of email do you use?

Somewhere there's some technical specs about what email works and what doesn't. You must have one that doesn't.

Anyway, sending via email is not the most secure route.

The more I know the more I don’t know.

I have msn.com  e-mail....I haven't tried my client's e-mail because I was just trying to test it before I sent it.  They were out of town and needed it for their daughters college registration.  They didn't have their original return with them.

Hi sjrcpa...Thank you for your response.  Do you have any idea how I would find the "working" and "non-working" e-mail list? Thanks...

I am just trying to send my tax return to my e-mail for a test before I try to send one to my client.  As you can surely tell, I am not very techie.  I have msn.com mail, I use Chrome as my browser.  I have sent a password protected e-mail to myself 3 times and have not gotten it.  The page comes up within my program  showing what needs to be done to open the e-mail so it seems that I have done all that right but it just does not send it to me.  Thank you for trying to help this old relic..🙃
