Where do I find training/certification for QuickBooks Desktop as a ProAdvisor?

BartHumphries

When I go to -- apparently it won't let me link but start at the intuit home page and then after the com put in /app/accountant/training -- at the top of the list of courses is an icon of a pin with the message, "New training and exam for QuickBooks Desktop 2020 certification and recertification is now available"

But the list of courses only shows the QuickBooks Online courses and then 4 specialty courses.  Where do I find the Desktop courses/exam?

Not the correct label but then I don't see a ProAdvisor label/forum.

ProAdvisor resources and log in are at this link:

https://quickbooks.intuit.com/accountants/proadvisor/

You posted in Pro Series Tax Preparation program community. Wrong place on the internet.

That's an ad page. Once you sign in, the training should appear at https://c9.qbo.intuit.com/app/accountant/training -- the page I tried to link to. It wouldn't let me start a new topic with that link in it though.

"It wouldn't let me start a new topic with that link in it though."

You're not even in the right place on the internet. This is a Tax Preparation forum.

Somebody else already pointed that out yesterday.

Yes, I was aware of that.  That's how I was able to put the link to the actual page past it in the very first post up there (or, well, tried to -- the system wouldn't ok the post with that link in it so I had to allude to the URL). 🙂

"the system wouldn't ok the post with that link in it"

Because the Forum Platform is trying to prevent links for Mumbai Dancing Girls.

You'd kind of think that a computer would be capable of noticing whether or not I'm trying to link back to this very same site, wouldn't you? I mean it's not like I was trying to link to some random website or filename. I didn't even give a filename and the root directory was for this very website.

Its seems to me like people who have a problem with the website might want to start their post with a link to where they're having that problem and that the website should allow links to itself just in case that's happening. But that's just my opinion. 🙂

This is a long shot, but call Quick Book sales and see if they can get you to the right place.

I called QuickBooks support just now and I was told that despite the "New training and exam for QuickBooks Desktop 2020 certification and recertification is now available." message at the top of the course list, I'd have to wait for the desktop courses to post and that I'd get an email about that when that happens.  I asked if they had a timeline as to when that might happen and they told me by July.  So despite the "now available" message they apparently won't actually be available until sometime in the next few months.

@BartHumphries

Would you Please post that in the QB Community at the link you were given.

This is the wrong place on the interwebs. It's like you walked into a Country Bar and asked the DJ to play Disco.

Tell your Peer Community about your QB issues, to help inform them. That is what a Peer Community is all about.

And this is not that Peer Community. This is a Tax Preparation community. Please let the Right People know what you learned. Right now, you put a note in a bottle, and threw it into the Interweb Sea, hoping it matters to whoever finds it.

A) I did. B) You should never leave a "request for help" post without adding the resolution: https://xkcd.com/979/

There's no desktop resources there at all.  It looks like all of the desktop training is gone.  It is still far and away the better, more comprehensive program.

@Darci

You are posting on an old thread, AND in a ProSeries forum. This is NOT a QuickBooks forum.

Yes, it's still there:

https://quickbooks.intuit.com/accountants/proadvisor/

Then, at the top, you see Training and Certification, which takes you to:

https://quickbooks.intuit.com/accountants/training-certification/

It also is here:

https://quickbooks.intuit.com/accountants/resources/

It all starts from that main page.

It's not available from the Income Tax Prep community, which is where you just found this forum.

Okay, I used those resources to get to this, just for you:

https://quickbooks.intuit.com/accountants/products-solutions/accounting/desktop/

I invite you to continue to click on links to find the info you seek.

My error: "It's not available from the Income Tax Prep community, which is where you just found this forum."
