I use a high tech file cabinet to save paper copies of the returns. But I do have Adobe that gives me the capability to tweak pdf copies when I need to.

Maybe an overkill but we keep at least 3 (and sometimes 4) copies of each return:
We use a PDF editor to make changes to the software-produced copy, where necessary.
We use Pro Series. We just print to both PDF and paper at the same time.
