What do you use for the EIN for a Canadian College for the American Opportunity Credit?

If you check the box that the EIN is not known then you do not get the 2,500 credit

Why do you not have an EIN?  Did the student receive a 1098-T?

With the limited amount of information you have said, it seems like the college does NOT qualify as an Eligible Educational Institution.

The Canadian College says they do not issue a 1098-T.  Would Canadian Colleges that are on the approved list for US tax credits normally have a EIN? So what do you put in the space for a EIN on the tax form?

My understanding is that if they are an Eligible Educational Institution, they are required to file a 1098-T, which would include having an EIN.
