w2 and section 14 and the K code

I have a w-2 from the defense department and in box 14 it has a K code. If I put it in box 12 that k code says statutory excise tax and the dollars amount reduces the clients refund by whatever is in that box. If I put it in box 14 it doesn't calculate

What do you think is supposed to calculate?

Box 14 is informational. Particularly with US gov't W-2s  there is usually nothing to do. What does the cheat sheet (W-2 info for employee instructions) say Box 14 Code K is?

a K in box 12 is completely different than a K in Box 14.

I have someone with the Dept of Defense and shes got K and V in Box 14, I mistakenly put them in Box 12 one year (the W2 makes it look like theyre a continuation of Box 12), thought it was weird she had stock options (code V)  LOL
