Transfer State Information?

Ok...time for one of my more stupid questions as I need a break from preparing on this Valentine's Day. 

When I transfer a client and then populate their state, I receive a notification asking if I want to transfer the state information.  Why would one choose not to transfer the state information?

There is a very good reason why you wouldn’t want to transfer …………. but the reason has temporarily escaped from my brain at the moment.  I have never not transferred the state data.

They moved to Alaska at the end of last year and since you have such excellent recall of everything your clients have ever done in the 36 years they have been your client you decide to not transfer when there is no state tax return to be filed this year.

and if you hit the X in the corner instead of choosing yes or no, then what happens...did it transfer it or not?
