If a tax payer claims his parent who receives disability social security will the parent's social security be reduced?

    Any help please.

I don't think so, but this is not a tax or tax software question. Go to ssa.gov and see if it has the answer.

The more I know the more I don’t know.

I did go online, ssa.gov, and found that SSDI could be negatively affected if the receiver is claimed by someone. It explains that to claim a dependent one must have provided over half the support (food, clothing, etc) therefore the dependent received financial help.

    Thank you for your help.
