Hello,
I had a return rejected by NYS with Error R0103: Public employeee contribution nto equal to amount on W2.
For this tax year, the W2 in Box 14 contained "Ret" and an amount which is for retirement. It was on the W2 for work that TP does at a college. Does that make one a public employee? For the ProSeries Code, I put Other (not listed) but the rejection explanation seems to say that I should have put "NY IRC 414(h) Subject to NY tax" or "NY IRC 414(h) NY tax exempt".
The amounts in Box 14 are all correct and do not deviate from the amounts listed on the W2 so when it says the retirement contribution does not equal amount on W2, that is a shady statement.
do you have a copy of the w-2? I've never seen box 14 say RET. are you sure it doesn't say 414H and that is why the NYS is trying to match? What college? Maybe they did the w-2 incorrectly and it should have said 414H?
we have a copy of the W2
