I do not see how to show a carryover of an unused energy property credit on windows that was not used because of no tax liability last year

I didn't think there is a carryforward for the window portion of the energy credit.

Oh yep, Jim's right.  That's a "use it or lose it".   Solar, geothermal, small wind, etc (page 1) can be carried forward.
