When you do a 2017 amended return in proseries, it prints out on the 2018 version of the US 1040X. Will the IRS accept this older version of the form or must you transfer info to the 2020 version?

Thank you for your response.
Let me be clear so we are on the same page.
If you are amending a 2017 1040, you would use the 2018 version of the 1040X which is actually the one for 2017. Correct?
The latest version of 1040-X is from July 2021, but it says at the top, "Use this revision to amend 2019 or later tax returns."
And thanks to indefatigable email newsletter author James Counts, CPA, in California, I learned today that IRS is out with a draft of a September 2021 version of 1040-X, and its instructions include this morsel:
Continuous-use form and instructions. Form 1040-X and its
instructions have been converted from an annual revision to
continuous use beginning in tax year 2021. Both the form and
instructions will be updated as required. For the most recent
version, go to IRS.gov/Form1040X. Section discussions and
charts that were updated annually have been removed, or
replaced with references to relevant forms, schedules,
instructions, and publications. See the forms, schedules,
instructions, and publications for the year of the tax return you
are amending for guidance on specific topics.
Does anyone know when ProSeries will incorporate the new (Revision July 2021) Form 1040-X into the tax package. Amended returns for 2019 and later must use the amended form. Thank you in advance.
