UCE and taxable social security benefits on Federal return

If I manually enter the UCE it reduces the taxable social security received by a spouse but if I use the Proseries automatic entry, it increases the taxable social security.   If the UCE is not part of other income, I believe the automatic entry is not correctly handling it.   Anyone else have this issue

The automatic entry is handling it correctly, your manual entry is not.

Yes I eventually found the answer.   So much for a tax season of knowing the rules when one begins......
