TRANSFER OF GIFT TAX FILES FROM 2023 TO 2024

WHEN I TRANSFERRED MY 4 2023 GIFT TAX FILES TO 2024, ALL OF MY 2200 CLIENT'S FILES WERE TRANSFERRED TO THE 2024 GIFT SOFTWARE! HOW TO CORRECT? THANKS...

Highlight all of the returns in the gift file homebase and hit the delete button on your keyboard.  If that happened, you might want to wait a little longer before you try transferring those clients again.

When you were in the transfer window, did you see the list of files? 

Did others besides what was in the transfer window get transferred?

Is it possible that when you transferred you left the "Select File type to Transfer" as "2023 Federal 1040 to 2024 Federal 709"

That seems to be what it defaults to, rather than "2023 709 to 2024 709

That makes sense as long as we weren't paying attention to the fact that there 5 million returns transferring over 😀
