A major tax preparer organization has appealed to the IRS for an extended tax season. I hope that a decision is made soon so that tax preparers can plan accordingly.

They didn't announce last year's extension until after the March 15th business return due date. If they do extend the date, it could be deja-vu all over again.

Lots of requests for it.

Question is which major organization that represents tax professionals did not appeal to the IRS for an extended tax season?

I've just been mailing letters to the IRS. I'm hoping the letters will be delivered by the post office by May of 2022 and opened by the IRS some time in 2023. Then they can retroactively extend the filing deadline to August 15 for 2020 returns as a result of the COVID-22 pandemic emergency declaration from President Harris.
