Probably the college kid who filed for his own $1,800
Anyone else that could claim the child or child filed their own return claiming exemption? If you find out who claimed the exemption you’ll have to file an amendment and paper file for your client. If not, paper file with documentation that your client is entitled to claim the child.
note... if you’re looking for a refund quickly, efile with the two kids then file the amendments to add the 3rd later.
Thank you!
Thanks, but no college kids involved.
So far, no dependent filed return and no non-custodial parent. I really appreciate the quick refund idea!
Thanks.
