Form 1099-B Worksheet - Summary Table Not Including All Subtotals

FPCwealth
Level 3

This functionality worked as expected in the 2024 software but does not appear to work in 2025.

In the 2024 version, the “Brokerage Statement (1099-B) Summary Table” included all transactions entered on the worksheet. That table pulled in both:

  • Line-by-line entries from the Quick Entry Table, and

  • Transactions summarized in the Form 8949 Reporting Exception Transaction table, allowing us to aggregate proceeds and basis for Code A and Code D transactions.

In the 2025 version, the summarized Code A and Code D transactions are no longer included in the Brokerage Statement Summary Table. This significantly reduces the usefulness of the table as a reconciliation tool against the actual 1099-B.

Was this an intentional change? The 2025 software also appears to introduce an additional summary section on the 1099-B worksheet titled “Form 8949 and Schedule D Totals.” It is possible that this programming change unintentionally altered the behavior of the Brokerage Statement Summary Table.

I was on the line with support last Friday, and they were no help at all. Fingers crossed it gets resolved before the big batch of these hit later this month!

I was with support for 2 hours today.....trying to resolve this issue.  It is Saturday Feb 7. 2026.  They do not seem to think there is a problem and told me to enter the summary data in the quick entry table which is wrong for efiling.  Please urge Pro Series to fix this issue soon.  As the more complex returns start to come in, the reconciliation summary form was always a great tool but is worthless now.

@IntuitKatie its concerning support doesn’t find this to be an issue. It’s going to be impossible to complete our returns without this fix. Please help!

To be clear, the return is still correct right?  this is just a convenience thing for the preparer?

Return calculates correct; however, form is not correct for filling purposes. That summary should be filled in correctly as part of the 8949.

Thanks for dating your remark.  It helps when reviewing to establish a timeline for messages.  Hopefully they will get this fixed.  I had to revert to an old form I had created myself years ago to record brokerage statements to reconcile the Schedule D.  While it did create time to enter twice it helped with the clients that had multiple brokerage statements that came in over time.
