2021 (the worst year) interest was over $15,000..... What can I do for interest and penalties

I've written letters.  Waiting now to hear back from my last.

@judys3 Where did you write the letter to? The address on the notice or did you do form 843? Thank you

You will respond to the letter on the notice.  Also, make sure you are demanding in the letter.  Give a detail of when the original returns were filed, when the money was received and when the money was paid on the amended returns.

Any update? Nothing on my end. What about the state you amended? Did you win that one? Still working on the IRS and VA here

We have just received a letter still demanding penalties and interest to be paid.  We have written another letter and filed form 843 again.  We will see.
