More info - claimed as dependent? Claimed as inventory? Asset for laying the eggs? I'm assuming you mean as a business expense? Are they selling the eggs?
Like security dogs guard a warehouse? Security chickens?
What are the chickens used for? Dinner?
Claimed for what purpose? I have 2 chickens that I claim as mine, they don't go on the tax return though.
On a separate note, my dogs have discovered a skunk is living under the shed in the backyard, the score is dogs 0 skunk 2. FML

Oh no! Cheryl says you can try to soak the dogs in tomato juice and let it sit for 20 minutes (which may only end up being slightly better than nothing.)
'Shirley' you know by now those a gaurd dogs <w>. AND they are over 24, and puce in color....
Or, maybe you haven't been around the forum as long as I thought 😉
(I think I need to go home, it's been a LONG three days 'round here)
Rick... I've heard of that treatment too. Fortunately, we don't have skunks around here so none of my dogs have ever tangled with 'em. Or with porcupines either altho we do have them. I hear the dogs are seldom the winner in battles with either of them.
I have had the opportunity to use tomato juice on a dog. 😥 It works.
Nowadays there are also commercial skunk out type products. I have not had the opportunity to use those. I am dogless now, but I do see skunks on my property.
Thank you all for your help. NOT
Thats why I hardly ever use this section for help.
Do the chickens have a Social Security number or ITIN?
Did they live with the hen or the rooster more than half of the year?
These kinds of questions are really tough to answer when someone doesn't provide any details.
For full disclosure purposes, the answers provided here are only as good as the details provided in the question.
One does get what one pays for... mind reading costs extra these days. The price of the classes has gone ski high.
Are you all getting this same 'related topics' link on the right side of this page?

Are the chickens trained to bring you your Fireball?
I did try to send some chickens to school just for that purpose, intending to claim the education credit and having the chickens bring the Fireball to me. However, it seems chickens are pretty mean. Not only did the drink the Fireball but they got more timeouts at school than some people around here get from Intuit. The school expelled them and refunded the tuition. At the end of the day, I ended up with no credit and even worse, no Fireball.
I’d give you TWO thumbs up for that one if I could!!!
