1044 loss from sale of shares in LLC

Hi all - posted this to an earlier thread. It seems like pro-series has changed the entry.

TP sold shares in LLC for a loss of $80k. MFJ.

I am trying to enter a 1044 loss.

Cannot access from Schedule D as previous thread directed. Entered into 1099-B, double clicked to get to Part IV, bottom right shows Sec 1244 loss on Form 4797. But when try to enter into 4797, the LT loss pulls through to 1040 but Form 4797 has no entry for 1044 loss, only 1045 and up.

Any guidance as to how / where to enter the 1044 loss appreciated.

Thanks Nolan

I don't think LLC units qualify as 1244 stock because they are not corporate stock.

The more I know, the more I don't know.

My bad - it is an INC, and have a letter from the INC CPA saying a 1044 loss "should be available"

It's 1244.
