Jeff, Jim, what does it matter, everybody knew who you were looking for. Sounds like we are neck and neck though. I had four done as of this afternoon, but I'm thinking of getting lucky number 5 done before I head out for the night. We have to start off a little slow so that we don't peak too early. I was just thinking that the drum set has to help you. Instead of beating frustrating clients, it must help to go home and beat on those drums. I heard of people going to jail for beating on a client but never for beating on a drum. I take my hat off to you (well, I would if I was wearing one) - I signed up to play the drums when I was in grade school. But instead of getting to touch an actual drum, we had to start by using drumsticks to beat on a stupid piece of rubber glued to a piece of wood while repeating "momma, pappa". That got old and boring real quick so I dropped out before I ever got to try the real thing. We went to a Christmas concert for our granddaughter last month and I pointed out the drummer to IronWoman and told her, that could have been me 😞

You guys all suck. I am stuck finishing 2023 returns before I can get to 2024. Because Cook County was declared a disaster because of storms, the 2023 deadline was extended to 2/3/25. That was just the news the procrastinators needed. And yes, I could have pushed them but I had no desire to do so during the holidays and then once January hit, it has flown by.
So to Jim and all the rest of you well past 1000 returns already, I say blow it out your porthole 😃. It is 11:00 pm here. A little early at night but never too early for a Fireball!

Not quite. This last 2023 guy I am actually working on has an NOL coming forward and I have no clue how to calculate or what to override to put on the return to make it semi-correct. I think that will be in the next 2023 update on Tuesday😤.
Then of course, the other problem return. The guy came in last April and I completed the return. He said he would have the signature forms signed by his wife and returned to me that afternoon. Still waiting. When they didn't show up, I got him an extension. Then I called. No response. So I forgot about him until September and I mailed to him a new set of signature forms. No response. I asked his brother about him and he said he was fine. When the disaster extension came along I said to myself I didn't have time chasing him and put him back in drawer. Now, I am chasing him and of course, not getting any response. I won't file the return without the signature forms so after Monday, he will be late. And when he calls in the spring and blows his stack when I tell him 2023 has not yet been filed, I am giving him Jim's phone number.

No thanks! If it can't be done in 15-20 minutes, not too interested!

Not happy about it but I've worked 64 and probably 50 completely finished. Off to a great start!
