Hello community! I've been making a list of issues that I haven't been able to resolve. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I've sent a list of these items to customer service. It seems like we shouldn't be having these basic issues with the amount of money we're paying for the program...
> All W-2s not appearing on generic city.
> City return doesn't calculate the amount of other local withholdings that can be taken.
> The RITA return does not calculate nor carry information from the Federal return. Schedule E in this case. It is over complicated.
> For RITA, some of the issues are if you have income vs a loss, numbers don’t carry and it’s not clear why…
> The pages are also listed separately in the tax program, so I have to go to each one.
> Unable to Efile in ProSeries.
> City doesn’t appear in the client letter.
> No city tax summary and instructions for filing, when inserted, it prints below the state on the same page.
Couple of points. generic city will not populate unless the federal W-2 worksheet has local wages and taxes filled out.. if zero was withheld for local I still enter the wages and zero for taxes withhheld
the generic return is set up to handle any city.. if a city only gives partial credit that has to be reduced down to the credit on the generic form
RITA, page 3. never did carry over the Schedule C or E results.. the two returns just are not that intertwined automatically
I didn’t think there were other preparers in OH. I thought Jim did the entire population’s returns by March 10th each year.
