I have a client with a pretty straight forward K-1. He's a partner in a law firm. The footnote to line 20 (Other Information) shows a "Profit Sharing Contribution" of $8,000. There is nothing reported on line 13 (Code R).
Am wondering if the $8,000 can be deducted on line 15 of Schedule 1. I know how to make the $8,000 appear on line 15, so I don't need help with that. I just need guidance on whether the $8,000 Profit Sharing Contribution is deductible based on the way it is presented on the K-1, Line 20 Other Income footnote.
(As an FYI - also listed alongside the Profit Sharing Contribution on that same footnote are Health Insurance Premiums of $2,000 and HSA Contribution of $5,000)
