When Georgia Film Credits are purchased for usage on business or individual returns, the Georgia Usage and Carryover Tax Credit Worksheet has to be completed. No matter what one does, the Credit Codes are presented as an error. Plus, Pro Series Professional is requiring the completion of Form IT-FC when not applicable as not required by the purchaser. This form is used by the producers of the Georgia Film Credits.
When Georgia Film Credits are used on business or individual returns, the Georgia returns are REQUIRED to be electronically file. BUT, given the error, they cannot be; even if the error check is ignored when submitting electronically. So, this is forcing taxpayers to paper-file when the requirement is to electronically file.
Plus, the software is handling credit carryover from prior years incorrectly.
This is EXTREMELY problematic. My partner and I both have called into Pro Series to get the issue addressed to no avail. He spent a total of 5 hours and I spent 2 hours.
