My clients have received a late notice penalty on NY State Partnership return. I had filed an extension on the Federal return but not on the NY return. Will they waive the fee given the automatic Federal extension due to COVID. Wanted to know if someone else has had that problem.

They may. I had the same situation. The NY extension was queued but didn't get sent. I called and bled and they waived the penalty.
The more I know the more I don’t know.
