TP received two W2's for the same state. The difference is the second W2 has additional state wages and SIT in boxes 16 and 17. I've never had this scenario, only with multiple states. Can I combine the state wages?

The state wages are in the same state? Confirm the total state wages withheld with her pay stubs. Either add the, together or you can enter both w2s using $1. As federal wages
TP is considered a "consultant" and works on a contract basis. I just spoke with her, and she has no idea why the two separate W2's as it's never occurred in past years her. She stated that sometimes there will be multiple contracts each year, some are not concurrent. I guess it could equate to a break in service. The employer only withholds taxes for her state of residence. It appears as if it is a correction because of the small amount. If true, they should have issued a corrected W2. I tried entering both in PS but got the diagnostic error because the software won't allow you to enter a W2 without federal wages. And it won't allow you to enter two lines in boxes 17 and 18.
Any suggestions, or do you think I'm good to combine. I've been researching but only find a solid answer to the same scenario which pops up in the TurboTax community. Their advisors have told folks to combine them as long as the differences are only in boxes 17 & 18. I'm unable to find anything on the IRS website.

Yes, I've reviewed the final paystub. Wages are in the same state and add up to what's on the paystub.
Thanks so much for your help! Very much appreciated!!! 🙏🏽
