Medical an Dental Expense on Schedule A - Medicare Premium Deduction

    Shirley77
    Level 3

I am using a client's Medicare premium on Schedule C (line 15 - self employed health insurance).

The software is also adding the Medicare premium to Medical and dental expenses (Line 1 - Schedule A)

The Schedule A Medical and Dental Expense flows to the Health Insurance Premium on Iowa (line 18) and is adding the medicare premium twice.

On 2019 software, the Medicare premium was omitted from the Medical and Dental Expense .

    Anyone else run into this?

Did you input the Medicare on the SS worksheet? That would throw it to Sch A.

They have a profit on Sch C, right?

Does it show up on Sch 1, Part II Line 16 too?
