Long live the Nigerian prince!

I don't know if I should announce my retirement quite yet, but when I got home last night I found a letter from a prestigious Toronto lawyer wanting to split something like a bazillion dollars in life insurance with me.  It seems a poor lady was tragically killed in a car accident and had a huge life insurance policy but evidently didn't list any living beneficiaries in the policy.  Luckily my last name and hers are the same so obviously I must be related so the check is as good as almost in the mail.  Hopefully the barrister is better at law than he is at geography, since he mentioned that he had a convention in California and originally was going to stop in and visit me at that time.  Geez, if I would have known that, I would have stood outside and waived to him when the plane flew over me.  Anyway, I'm not here to brag about my soon to be arriving fortune.  Instead, since I have so many friends here, I thought I would start taking orders from everybody as to how many cases of Fireball I can ship to them in appreciation of our friendship.  Once that deposit hits my bank account, the Fireball will be shipped!  As a side note, I already have a semi completely load up for a special delivery to Mr Fireball in IL.

And this is why on every estate planning meeting when you discuss beneficiaries you tell the client (you or your children) should be named. If we really are the "most trusted advisors" the client should have no problem adding us to their will or trust.

Good advice.  I'll throw in an extra case of Fireball to you for that.

Actually, maybe the inclusion in the will or trust should also be part of every engagement letter. I wonder how the AICPA and IRS would view this..........

You aren't doing an audit, so I don't think independence would be an issue so I think you would be ok doing that.

Will you need some upfront money for shipping the Fireball cases? I can send routing and account info so the shipment won't be delayed.

Thanks for sharing your good fortune with the community. I almost won the publishers clearing house contest once, but after I gave all my banking info, they realized they had the wrong person....go figure!

Placing my order for when your $$$$ arrives.  I don't want a case, just one bottle.

@Camp1040  - Shipping is free, but just in case I need it in the future, you can post your routing and bank account information here.  Also, your Social Security number and driver's license number could be helpful in the future so why don't you post that here too.  Your information is secure since I heard Intuit now uses Gaurd Dog Security Systems to keep this place bullet proof from shady characters.

@dkh - I got a special deal on prices from Fireball.  Did you want the 10 gallon or 25 gallon bottle?

Send some Fireball my way!  My inventory is depleted after 7 straight days of not leaving the office leading up to April 15th.
