anyone know if there is any way to retrieve work done when I had to exit the program due to the following error:
"unable to read the data. exit program and try again"
I tried for a long time to get around it but without any weekend support was hopeful it wouldn't lose everything but it did.
UPDATE: rekeyed everything but this time, saved the new client first so I didn't lose the data. Recreated the error which was caused by checking the "check this box to transfer the federal explanation from the Federal amended form" box on NC Sch AM (for an amended return).
PS rule #1. Always save new client as soon as you can. It allows auto recovery in case of shutdown/meltdown…..
i still start 1040x with a save as xxxxamend.xxx
not likely that support could have helped… you saved the hold time
