I'm preparing a 2019 individual return (final return). Taxpayer died in 2018. Error message says date of death cannot be before 2019.

If I override, will I have to mail return rather than efile?

You wouldnt file a 2019 personal return for someone that died in 2018, thats why youre getting an error.

If they died in 2018, 2018 was their final personal return.
