If you need to change or amend an accepted New Jersey State Income Tax Return for the current or previous Tax Year, you need to complete Form NJ-1040X (residents) or Form NJ-1040NR (nonresidents and part-year residents). Forms NJ-1040X and NJ-1040NR are Forms used for the Tax Amendment.

Can you e-file and amended New Jersey 1040X in ProSeries?

    Yes, beginning 2022.

When you are on the federal Info worksheet, below the 1040X checkbox is a drop list of the PS allowable amended states. There is even a red warning that not all states are allowed by PS. 18 are allowed.

The drop down list is quite readable.
