I was told you report Canada pension as US pension & Canadian social security as US social security. I read the pension was reported with the US Social Security. I also saw to enter it as a 'foreign pension' on the other income screen. There was NO Canadian tax w/h & it has been converted to USD. In Lacerte, you are able to enter it as a pension with no EIN#, without error, due to no withholding. ProSeries Basic is very limited and will NOT allow that.
I believe code 47 is CPP retirement, and reported as SS. (taxed same way as SS) just fill out SS benefits worksheet.( no EIN needed) Its been several years since I had one, so you should research the Canada treaty to be sure. on the worksheet there is a box to check to say it is from Canada
