How do you dispose of a rental property reported on Sch E?

I want to dispose the property reported on schedule E on a 1040 and link it to the sale to populate the depreciation and cost basis automatically.

Go to the asset entry worksheet and fill in the date of sale and the sale amount,.

and be sure to mark Box H on the Sch E worksheet to free up any suspended losses that might be attached to it.
