I wonder why the Proseries Trust HomeBase View says December year end trust returns with an extension have a 10.02.23 due date?

Isnt September 30th the trust due date with an extension?   That's a Saturday, the first business day after that is Monday Oct 2nd.

You are correct. The extension is only good for 5 1/2 months instead of 6  😧

Its weird, I dunno why they cant just make it the same as a 1040, dont we have enough dates to remember!

One wonders why they chose 5 1/2 instead of 6?  🤔

Lisa-once upon a time it was the same as individuals. And extended C Corps were due 9/15 and ...

They changed these things 8 or 10(?) years ago. Took me about 6 years to get it straight. I still slip up sometimes.

@tscott So individuals don't get K-1s on 10/15 when their return is due.

There is probably also a federal budget reason.

That makes sense, but then they should choose 9/15 like the other entities, slipping it in at 5½ months is goofy!
